Green Gazebo. Green is the colour of the future.

For Gazebo, protecting the planet isn’t just the latest fad.
The company took its first step to safeguarding the environment way back in 2011.
This was followed by other important measures, culminating in a policy that has made the company
accountable to the environment, mankind and our planet’s resources.
Today, Gazebo’s philosophy and the choices it has made regarding its production process have been recognised
with ISO 14001:2015 certification for its internal environmental management system
and UNI/PdR 88:2020 certification for the implementation of Minimum Environmental Criteria.
Green Gazebo. The next step to a better future.

1. Considerable reduction in environmental
and noise pollution
Since 2011, Gazebo S.p.A. has produced eco-sustainable, self-compacting and fiber-reinforced concrete to manufacture its prefabricated reinforced concrete monolithic tanks, thanks to the innovative SCC Gazebo System and FRC Gazebo System technologies.

Thanks to these technologies, the following have been eliminated from the production process:
- boiler to produce steam which was powered by fuel oil and used in the past to cure the cement.
- electro-vibrating systems used to homogenize the concrete mixture in the formwork.
These measures have led to a considerable reduction in environmental pollution (no more fuel used) and noise pollution (noise of the vibrations eliminated).

2. Fewer emissions released into the atmosphere
The silos containing the raw materials (namely cement and filler) used to produce the concrete, are fitted with an abatement and filtration system to deal with fumes and dust which could be generated when they are filled or the materials removed; this system has reduced environmental pollution, with fewer emissions released into the atmosphere.

Similarly, the aggregates used to produce the concrete are stored in large steel parallelepiped-shaped silos which ensure the almost total abatement of fumes and dust which, in the past, were released during filling and removal.
The result is less environmental pollution and fewer emissions released into the atmosphere.
3. Less environment pollution caused by surface water bodies
Thanks to a treatment and reuse plant, the water used to produce the concrete (e.g.: water used to wash the mixer and the grabber which loads the concrete etc.) is recycled back into the production process.

This measure has led to the total elimination of environmental pollution caused by surface water bodies.
The civil wastewater discharged from the bathrooms of the offices and production facility is treated by a total oxidation activated sludge system with a purification system with vertical flow phytodepuration.
Result: considerable reduction in environmental pollution generated by surface water bodies.
Any minimal residual industrial wastewater from the production process is treated using a static oil separation system fitted with coalescence filters and a purification and filtering system with quartz sand and activated carbons.
Once again, this has led to a substantial reduction in environmental pollution caused by surface water bodies.
4. Products with a low environmental impact
During production, products with a low environmental impact are used whenever possible (e.g.: plant-based disarming oil, solvent-free products, etc.).
5. Photovoltaic system
In 2011 a photovoltaic system, which generates 100 kW of electricity, was installed. This system helps reduce consumption and pollution produced by the C02 generated when fossil fuels are used.
Gazebo S.p.A. is currently deciding whether to extend its photovoltaic system by a further 40% max. (40 kW of power).

6. LED technology to reduce electricity consumption and pollution
The lighting in the offices, industrial warehouses (approx. 5000 sqm covered surface area) and outside areas is equipped with LED projectors and this has led to a substantial reduction in electricity consumption and pollution.
7. Inverter-type electronic control systems to eliminate peaks in absorbed power
Most of the electric motors in the Gazebo S.p.A. production plants have inverter-type electronic control systems which eliminate peaks in absorbed power and therefore use less electricity.

8. More Green, more Gazebo
Gazebo S.p.A. is planning to replace the central heating boiler in the offices which currently runs on diesel fuel, with a new model powered by a heat pump.
This signals the end of the very last fuel-powered utility.

Gazebo S.p.A. has already planned to replace the cement-asbestos roofs on three of the industrial warehouses in 2019-2020 with new roofs made of insulated prepainted metal corrugated sheets.
Approximately 20% of the land the Gazebo S.p.A. premises are built on is green (trees, hedges, lawns, etc.). Future plans include significantly increasing this area.
9. Minimum Environmental Criteria for Gazebo
Gazebo has always been committed to the environment, and has demonstrated its respect for Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) by qualifying its internal circular economy process, which focuses on reducing waste and consumption, thanks to the certification to UNI/PdR 88:2020.
