Absorbing Beds



DESCRIPTION:
The "GAZEBO" ABSORBING BEDS, prefabricated in vibrated reinforced concrete, are monobloc and made from RcK > 400 kg/sq cm concrete, vibrated on metal caissons and steam cured, reinforced with internal ribs, open face, with total elimination of porosity and gravel nests, with internal steel reinforcement with upgraded adhesion and electrically-welded square mesh type FeB 44K, factory tested, in compliance with Anti-earthquake law Cat. 1.

The "GAZEBO" absorbing bed PHYTODEPURATION SYSTEM is based on the recycling of nutritive organic substances in residential wastewaters and on the possible recycling of the treated water. This process exploits, directly, the natural evaporation-transpiration capacities of the soil and, indirectly, the absorption capacities of the vegetation planted on the surface, while at the same time the organic substances are humidified.

A typical plant set up is as follows:
  • absorbing tray (bed) in sealed reinforced concrete in order to prevent pollution of underground water bed;
  • treated water drainage sump pit and adjustment of water level inside the tray, by means of a manually adjustable pipe
The absorbing tray features the following internal parts:
  • perforated pipe for distribution of incoming sewage
  • layer of gravel with variable grain size
  • layer of non-fabric fabric to prevent leaching the soil underneath
  • mixture of sand, peat and loam for medium formation
  • plants and shrubs (canes and bog rushes, Laurus Cerasus, Kalmia latifoglia and others)
  • perforated pipe for draining the treated wastewater into the sump pit
The absorbing tray will have to be positioned after a sewage pre-treatment basin, such as an imhoff tank or an extended-aeration active sludge treatment plant. The performance and warranties relating to this type of treatment process are the following:
  • treated waste in compliance with applicable laws;
  • abatement of suspended solids: 90%;
  • BOD5 abatement: 85%
  • sedimentation-solid removal: 70%

Driveway/pedestrian coverings - man-hole covers, holes, special materials (stainless steel and other) and treatments (resin-covering and painting).

THE ABSORBENT BED IS PROVIDED WITH INTERNAL PEHD/P.V.C. DRAINING PIPES AND 1 REINFORCED CONCRETE WELL AND ITS INTERNAL PIPING TO ADJUST THE WATER LEVEL IN THE BED
THE FOOTING SHALL BE AT LEAST 20 cm THICK, AND IT SHALL BE REINFORCED WITH A DOUBLE ELECTROWELDED STEEL MESHWORK, diam.8 mm., mesh 20x20 cm.
A 3-5 cm THICK SAND LAYER SHALL BE PLACED ABOVE THE FOOTING TO LAY THE PREFABRICATED STRUCTURES
